Description We’re seeking experienced Operations Area Managers to join the team at our Fulfillment Center (FC) in Brisbane. As an Operations Area Manager, you'll be directly responsible for leading and developing a team of Section Managers and their direct reports in one of the following areas within the Fulfillment Center Operations: receive, stow, pick, pack or ship, where you will work to continuously improve the efficiency of delivery processes, ensuring that customer orders are delivered as quickly, accurately, and cost-effectively as possible. Along with your peers, you’ll ensure that all workflows run smoothly and that customer expectations are met, if not exceeded. Please note the shift pattern is based on 4 days on, 3 days off schedule and can include nights. (Sunday to Wednesday or Wednesday to Saturday) Key Job Responsibilities

  • Leading and developing a team of Operations Section Managers and their direct reports
  • Maintaining Health and Safety standards within your remit area, while promoting an inspiring Health and Safety culture on-site
  • Developing performance goals and objectives to achieve customer promise expectations and ensure accuracy and quality
  • Collaborating with all support teams including Safety, Learning, Loss Prevention, Quality Assurance and Human Resources to develop plans to meet business objectives
  • Partnering with the leadership team to establish and maintain quality control standards
  • Reviewing forecasts and determining requirements to meet the overall building objectives.

A day in the life You’ll work on a shift pattern at one of our sites, making sure it is as productive as it can be. Your main focus will be to own and drive a culture of safety and uphold quality and shift performance standards. You’ll also oversee process improvements within your area and drive implementation. A typical day is varied, including everything from routine team management and daily operational responsibilities to process improvement and wide-scale operational contingency tasks. You’ll also be a role model and mentor to new managers. About The Team Customer Fulfilment, or CF, is where it all started for Amazon. We’re based in Fulfillment Centers (FCs), which are at the heart of Amazon’s fast-paced Operations network. Our FCs are sometimes referred to as the ‘First Mile’ because it’s where most Amazon packages start their journey. We help to manage dynamic inventory and facilitate speedy deliveries round the clock. Lots of different people work in our Fulfillment Centers, so there are plenty of opportunities for every skill set. Some of us work with physical products, while others analyze data to help everyone across the business make smart decisions. Basic Qualifications

  • Working experience in Operations, Supply Chain/Logistics, or a related field,
  • Direct management experience for employees and their performance,
  • Experience as a manager, involving sizable teams; you’re a natural at motivating others around you and building strong relationships,
  • Demonstrate ability in problem-solving and analytical capabilities: conducting and driving Dive Deep analysis on complex processes,
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with performance metrics and process improvement,
  • Experience in Microsoft Office applications including but not limited to MS Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook,
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or equivalent qualification.
