Role Title: Business Development and Capture Support Role Description: The Business Development and Capture Support role will provide structured support to the Growth and Strategy Team including Business Development Managers, Capture Managers and Proposal Managers to drive disciplined growth, strengthen customer accounts, strategic partnerships and improve win probability across Defence opportunities. Key accountabilities:

  • Working with the team to maintain and update Customer Account Plans and Strategic Partner Account Plans.
  • Support development and maintenance of capture plans, including win themes, competitive positioning, and solution alignment
  • Coordinate inputs for key capture artefacts (customer insights, partner inputs, solution outlines)
  • Track and drive capture actions, ensuring owners and timelines are clearly defined
  • Maintain competitive intelligence and support Black Hat / competitor positioning activities
  • Coordinate and support formal review gates
  • Ensure actions from reviews are captured, assigned, and closed out
  • Maintain structured reporting on progress against milestones

Essential Requirements:

  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage tasks, actions and deadlines across multiple activities
  • Ability to work in a structured and disciplined way, following defined processes, templates and review gates
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly capture information, actions and outcomes
  • Confidence working with a range of internal stakeholders and contributing as part of a broader Growth or Capture team
  • Ability to coordinate inputs from different people and consolidate them into clear, well‑structured documents or trackers
  • Willingness and ability to learn capture management concepts such as customer account planning, win themes and competitive positioning
  • Strong attention to detail, particularly when tracking actions, maintaining documentation and reporting progress
  • Basic analytical skills, with the ability to gather information, identify key points and summarise insights
  • Proficient in common business tools such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel (or equivalent)

Desirable Requirements:

  • Experience in a Defence, government, engineering, or regulated professional services environment.
  • Familiarity with security aware environments and compliance driven organisations.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an Australian Government security clearance (or willingness to do so).
  • Exposure to business development, capture, proposal or tender activities in any industry
  • Experience supporting project teams, bids, programs or client accounts
  • Familiarity with CRM systems, opportunity trackers or similar coordination tools
  • Exposure to working with external partners or suppliers
  • Interest in defence capability, strategy, growth or commercial environments
