The Opportunity Newcastle Anglican has a great opportunity within the Community Aged Care team, Anglican Care HomeLife, for a passionate and proactive Manager to join us. Working with the HomeLife teams within Community and Day Programs across Central Coast, Newcastle/Lake Macquarie and Mid North Coast, this role will ensure best practice and compliance in all that we do for our People We Support and for our teams. You will drive operational management to support our staff to deliver services across these locations ensuring funding requirements and models of care for the People We Support to support choice and continue to live safe and independently in the community. This is a Full Time Permanent opportunity. What does a day in the life of the Community Manager look like: You will support a team of Clinical, Care Partners, and Support staff to ensure that the People We Support are achieving their goals, continuing to be safe, independent, and socially involved in their community in the way of their choosing. You will ensure that the Clinical Nursing team are meeting assessment targets and meeting the clinical needs of the People We Support. You will support Community Care leads in ensuring People We Support’s budgets and compliance under the Support at Home and Commonwealth Support Programs are being adhered to, through guidance and support of Care Partners and Support Staff. Working with Senior Management in growth opportunities for service delivery and compliance, other Managers and Teams for a collaborative approach to service delivery, and with shared services to report on finance, people support and performance.   • Proactively manage and lead HomeLife staff to ensure compliant care and support services to the People We Support.
  • Liaise, negotiate and network with regulatory organisations, referrers, and other service providers as appropriate
  • Collaborate with the Aged Care senior management and contribute to the growth of Anglican Care HomeLife services.
  • Provide a high standard of leadership as a member of the senior team that reflects and promotes evidenced based practice and excellence in care and lead in line with Newcastle Anglican values
  • Coach and mentor direct reports to ensure that they effectively manage the resources for which they are responsible
  • Oversee and manage risk management and risk reporting activities as required.
  • Researching and sourcing of industry information to ensure the group is at the forefront of regulatory management and best practice.
  • Ensure achievement of Support at Home and CHSP monthly reporting requirements and budgets
  • Achieve performance goals across Community Aged Care

About you?

  • 3+ years in a similar position with proven experience in managing and leading a large team across multiple locations with a strong understanding of team dynamics and how to get the best from the team
  • Proven experience working with financial and budgetary responsibilities.
  • A strong understanding of Community Aged Care, Support at Home and CHSP.
  • Comprehensive experience in working in a flexible, multi-skilled team environment.
  • Proven strong mediation and problem-solving abilities
  • Current First aid and CPR certification
  • Current unrestricted drivers’ licence
  • A current NDIS and WWC Check
  • National Police Check (Newcastle Anglican will consider the relevance of any reported outcomes)
  • Australian work rights
