The Senior Security Architect will provide security leadership for design, implementation, integration, and oversight of cloud-based and hybrid systems' security solutions with an emphasis on securely facilitating business operations.
- Sydney or Melbourne location.
- $147,074 - $185,637 (depending on experience) + 15.4% superannuation
- 36 month Fixed Term Contract

The team Cyber Security provides a wide range of services including security architecture & design, incident response and cyber assurance for ASIC. We make use of the latest security technology with an increasing focus on automation and analytics to secure and support ASIC on its journey to be a 'best in class regulator supporting the Australian financial markets. The role Alongside providing Security leadership, youwill also support other architectural teams and work at the program level to provide cyber architectural leadership. Responsibilities Will Include
- Lead technical security designs and assessments with internal stakeholders.
- Define cloud security controls to protect data from loss or misuse.
- Evaluate security solutions to identify gaps and vulnerabilities.
- Assess SaaS/PaaS services against ACSC ISM and industry standards.
- Enhance security controls across existing platforms and services.
- Conduct threat modelling and design reviews for control completeness.
- Contribute to security principles, patterns, and architecture frameworks.
- Facilitate onboarding of services into SOC threat monitoring.
- Maintain cyber security documentation and architectural artifacts.
- Support continuous improvement of security tools, processes, and culture.
About You You will ideally have the following skills & experience:
- Tertiary qualification or equivalent experience as a security architect.
- Skilled in designing secure AWS/Azure architectures aligned to standards.
- Experienced in securing endpoints, gateways, IPS/IDS, and networks.
- Led SOC architecture and threat hunting using Microsoft Sentinel.
- Applied NIST, ISO 27001, ACSC ISM, and ASD Essential Eight frameworks.
- Performed threat modelling and design reviews for new tech and systems.
- Promoted secure design practices across IT architecture teams.
- Designed cloud-native auth solutions with MFA, SSO, and IAM expertise.
- Strong grasp of enterprise cloud and hybrid infrastructure security.
- Worked with CASBs, CSPMs, and cloud governance tools.
- Quick to learn new security tech and track market trends.
- Skilled in resolving complex stakeholder queries using diverse data sources.
- Excellent communication and consultative abilities.
- Able to present complex ideas clearly to senior audiences.
- Works independently and takes ownership of outcomes.
- Collaborates well with cross-functional teams and builds strong relationships.
- Security certifications (e.g. CISSP, SABSA, CCSP) are desirable.
