Senior Developer

Brief DescriptionYour new team You will join the Development Environments team, acting as the bridge between our Cloud Platform group and 40 end-to-end product teams. Your goal is to ensure that "it works on my machine" translates seamlessly to "it works in production." While your title is Developer, your primary domain is the ecosystem that enables development. You will write code, configurations, and pipelines that automate the developer experience for over 200 engineers. The role

• Modernise Infrastructure: Lead the implementation of Terraform and Helm charts to standardise how 40 teams deploy services.
• Migration & Automation: Drive the transition from legacy systems (Jenkins, Bamboo, Bitbucket) to a modern GitOps flow using GitLab, Argo CD, and HashiCorp Vault.
• Dogfooding: Spend a portion of your time contributing to the Java and Angular codebases you support to ensure the tooling and environments meet the needs of the developers who use them.
• Engineering Support: Act as the delegated authority for security, identity, and cloud configurations. You will open PRs against product team pipelines to improve their reliability and security.
• Knowledge Transfer: Serve as the subject matter expert for Infrastructure as Code (IaC), helping the broader team transition from traditional tooling to cloud-native patterns.

What Experience You’ll Bring

• IaC: Proven experience with Terraform and Helm. You should be comfortable modularising configurations.
• CI/CD Ecosystems: Deep familiarity with GitLab CI, Argo CD, and secret management via HashiCorp Vault.
• Software Development: Proficiency in Java or Angular/TypeScript. You must be able to navigate and contribute to application codebases.
• Legacy Tooling: Understanding of (or willingness to maintain) Jenkins, Bamboo, and Bitbucket during a 6–18 month decommissioning phase.
• Cloud Concepts: Solid understanding of AWS access patterns, Okta/AD group management, and JFrog Artifactory

All Sites Please note: this role requires one day in the office per week at our Toowong headquarters. This role is available at any of our Brisbane and Sunshine Coast locations providing flexibility to choose the office that suits you. Our Toowong office is close to the city with easy public transport and parking options while our North Lakes offices are within walking distance of some of the north side’s best retail locations.
