Where You'll Be Working The John Hunter Hospital Engineering Department consists of over 50 dedicated staff responsible for reactive and planned maintenance across the John Hunter Hospital campus and associated facilities. The team supports a diverse range of buildings, plant and equipment that are critical to delivering healthcare services to the Hunter New England community. You'll be part of a collaborative mechanical team working alongside experienced tradespeople and reporting directly to the Mechanical Supervisor. About The Role As a Fitter, you'll be responsible for maintaining and repairing a broad range of mechanical systems and equipment across the hospital campus. Your Work Will Include Reactive breakdown maintenance and fault findingPreventive maintenance of mechanical plant and equipmentMaintenance of air conditioning and pumping systemsGeneral fitting and fabrication workRepairs and maintenance of hospital equipment including patient beds, wheelchairs, trolleys and IV polesSupporting the ongoing reliability and performance of critical hospital infrastructure No two days are the same, offering a varied and rewarding workload across one of the region's largest and most complex facilities. Remuneration And Benefits Applicants who can demonstrate five years of post-trade employment experience will commence at Level 4 of the NSW Health Skilled Trades Award, with a salary of $75,882 per annum.
