Security Technician

Licensed Security Technician Full-Time – Newcastle Based About Us Ideal Technologies is a Newcastle-based commercial data cabling and security contracting company. We pride ourselves on delivering high-quality solutions across construction, commercial, and retail sectors. As we continue to grow, we're looking for an experienced and motivated technician to lead one of our current construction projects and contribute to ongoing service works. The Role This is a hands-on, leadership-focused role best suited to a licensed technician who can work independently, manage tasks efficiently, and follow project instructions with minimal supervision. You’ll Be Responsible For

• Leading installations and service work across current and upcoming projects
• Programming, commissioning, and servicing of Inner Range systems
• Terminating and testing of copper and fibre structured cabling
• Installation and configuration of access control and CCTV systems
• Ensuring client satisfaction through quality workmanship and professionalism

What We’re Looking For

• Demonstrated experience working with Inner Range Integriti systems is a plus
• Strong background in commercial/retail communications, access control, or security installation
• Ability to work independently and manage on-site responsibilities
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety and quality

Qualifications & Requirements

• OH&S General Induction (White Card)
• BICSI/ACRS Cabler Registration with relevant endorsements or Certificate III in Telecommunications
• NSW Class 2C Security Licence
• Valid Australian Driver’s Licence
• Must be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident
• Police check required prior to employment

Additional certifications or endorsements will be highly regarded. Work Conditions

• Standard trade hours with occasional night and weekend work depending on project requirements
• Some travel may be required, with appropriate allowances provided
