Software Engineer

Software Engineer - Hybrid - $140,000 - $160,000

This role sits within a growing, product led SaaS company building a platform used by large, highly regulated organisations globally. The software supports complex, high volume workflows where accuracy, performance, and reliability are essential.

The product has been in market for several years. Some parts of the system are stable and proven, while others need re engineering to support scale, new customers, and evolving requirements. There is ongoing work focused on modernisation, performance improvements, and extending the platform’s capabilities.

This is not a greenfield build and it is not maintenance only. You will be working across both, improving existing systems, building new functionality, and contributing to how the platform evolves as the business grows.

The engineering team works closely with product and design. Developers are involved early in problem solving rather than being handed fully formed tickets. You will have visibility into why features are being built, the trade offs involved, and the real world impact once your work reaches production.

The tech you’ll work with

• Frontend: React, Material UI
• Backend: Node.js (JavaScript / TypeScript)
• Data: MongoDB (with other data stores in the wider ecosystem)
• Infrastructure: AWS, CI/CD pipelines, containerised services
• Architecture: API-driven, SaaS, security-first

This is a true full-stack role, but depth in either frontend or backend is welcome.

What ownership looks like here

• Taking features from idea → implementation → production
• Participating in architectural discussions and technical decision-making
• Writing code that’s expected to be readable, testable, and maintainable
• Reviewing others’ work and having yours reviewed (constructively)
• Suggesting better ways of doing things — and being listened to

What we’re looking for

• 4+ years experience as a Software Engineer or Full Stack Developer
• Strong experience with modern JavaScript / TypeScript
• Solid understanding of API design and data modelling
• Experience working on production SaaS systems
• Comfort working in an agile, cross-functional team
• An engineer who asks why, not just what
