Our schools are places of learning, connection, and growth, guided by the values of Wisdom, Justice, Courage, Compassion, and Love.

Why work for Catholic Education NT?

  • Salary of $95,000 to $110,000 plus superannuation
  • 35-hour working week (8:00am – 4:00pm)
  • Five weeks annual leave plus additional leave entitlements
  • Salary Sacrificing up to $15,900 as FBT rebatable employer
  • Employee rewards program (discounts at 450+ retailers)
  • Discounted school fees for children attending Catholic schools
  • Access to learning and development opportunities in a supportive environment
  • Free onsite parking

The position:

The Capital Project Officer is part of a small team of three and is responsible for the delivery and management of capital infrastructure projects, procurements, contract management and documentation under the supervision of the Infrastructure Manager. The role collaborates with school facility managers, CEO staff, Principals and external stakeholders and contractors daily. It is a dynamic role that involves travel, site visits and project management administration in the head office.

This is a full-time permanent position, with commencement as soon as possible.

Key responsibilities:

As Capital Project Officer, you will:

  • Support the delivery of capital works and repairs and maintenance (R&M) projects across schools and the Catholic Education Office.
  • Manage assigned construction projects from planning through to completion.
  • Coordinate and manage contractors to ensure works are delivered safely, on time and to standard.
  • Implement and support asset and facilities management policies and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate project records, documentation and asset data.
  • Ensure WHS policies and procedures are effectively implemented and monitored across projects.

Full details of the role and requirements can be found in the Position Description within the Application Package.

About you:

We are looking for someone who:

  • Holds a construction trade qualification and/or tertiary qualifications in project management (or equivalent experience).
  • Has demonstrated experience managing capital works or construction projects.
  • Has strong knowledge of WHS practices and construction documentation.
  • Communicates effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, including contractors and school leaders.
  • Is highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Works both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Is willing and able to travel to remote communities within the Northern Territory.
  • Holds a current NT Driver’s Licence and Ochre Card (or ability to obtain).
  • Demonstrates an understanding of and commitment to the ethos of Catholic Education.
