Type : Full-Time Term : Temporary Position DetailsEarly Years Teacher (Pre Primary) Our Lady of Mercy is a double-stream co-educational Catholic primary school catering for students from Kindergarten to Year Six. Through high-quality teaching, strong English language support, and a deep commitment to student wellbeing, every child is supported to feel secure, learn with confidence, and grow in faith and friendship. We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Early Years Teacher to join our vibrant Catholic primary school community as part of our staff review and restructure. This is an exciting opportunity for an educator who understands the importance of strong foundations in the early years and is committed to nurturing each child’s academic, social, emotional and spiritual growth. Our school is well resourced and committed to progressive, evidence-based teaching and learning practices across all year levels. Selection CriteriaThe Successful Applicant Will Demonstrate

  • A strong understanding of early childhood pedagogy, including play-based and explicit teaching approaches aligned to the EYLF and/or Western Australian Curriculum.
  • Proven ability to deliver high-quality literacy and numeracy instruction in the early years.
  • Capacity to differentiate learning for diverse learners, including EAL/D and students with additional needs.
  • Skill in using assessment and student data to inform teaching and improve outcomes.
  • Ability to create a safe, structured and nurturing classroom environment that supports wellbeing and positive behaviour.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build authentic partnerships with families.
  • Commitment to collaborative practice and continuous professional growth.
  • Support for the ethos, mission and values of Catholic education (Accreditation to Teach Religious Education or willingness to obtain).

Qualifications Required

  • Relevant four year tertiary qualification.
  • Accreditation to Teach Religious Education.
