About the role

Job Description

Project Engineer - North Brisbane

Join a growing mid-tier civil contractor | Multiple projects | Clear pathway to Senior PE

A leading mid-tier civil contractor is continuing to grow across Southeast Queensland and is looking for a Project Engineer to join their team and support the delivery of multiple projects across Brisbane's Northside.

With a strong reputation for delivering complex civil projects across roads, bridges, rail and renewable energy, the business has secured a healthy pipeline of work and is continuing to expand its presence across the QLD market.

With several live projects across Brisbane's Northside — including bridge construction, pipeline installation and car park upgrades — this is an excellent opportunity for a Project Engineer who wants variety, autonomy and a clear pathway into a Senior Project Engineer position.

The Opportunity

Working across 2-3 projects simultaneously, you'll take ownership of the day-to-day engineering requirements across a variety of civil construction packages.

You'll work closely with experienced Senior Engineers and Project Managers, giving you the support and mentorship required to develop your technical and commercial capabilities while being trusted with genuine project responsibility.

The Role Will Include

  • Day-to-day Project Engineering responsibilities across multiple projects
  • Supporting the delivery of complex civil construction works
  • Managing subcontractors, suppliers and site teams
  • Procurement, programming and planning
  • Cost tracking and project reporting
  • QA, ITPs, inspections and technical documentation
  • Design coordination and resolving technical issues
  • Managing RFIs, variations and project correspondence
  • Supporting project delivery from planning through to completion
  • Working closely with Project Managers, Site Engineers and Supervisors
  • Taking ownership of engineering outcomes and driving projects forward

About You

We're looking to speak with qualified Civil Engineers with 3+ years' post-graduate experience who have a proven background in delivering civil construction projects.

Ideally, you'll have experience working for a mid-tier contractor that self-performs its works and be comfortable operating in a fast-paced construction environment where engineers are expected to take ownership and make decisions.

You'll Ideally Have

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
  • 3+ years' post-graduate civil construction experience
  • Proven experience delivering complex civil infrastructure projects
  • Strong technical and commercial understanding
  • Experience working closely with subcontractors and site teams
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • A proactive approach with the ability to work autonomously
  • Ambition to progress into a Senior Project Engineer position

The business is growing significantly across SE QLD, and this role has been created to support that growth.

You'll Get

  • Long-term job security with a growing contractor
  • Exposure to multiple challenging civil projects
  • The opportunity to work across 2-3 projects
  • Strong support from experienced Senior Engineers and Project Managers
  • Clear career progression into a Senior Project Engineer role
  • Genuine autonomy and ownership over your projects
  • The opportunity to make decisions and have real project accountability
  • A varied workload across bridges, pipelines, roads and civil infrastructure
  • The chance to join a business with a strong pipeline of work across SE QLD

If you're a Project Engineer looking for your next step with a contractor that can offer genuine progression, project variety and long-term opportunity, this is a role worth exploring. Please call Rory on 0428 026 703 r email [email protected]
