About The Role The position of Paediatric Emergency Medicine Fellow will:
- Deliver medical services through participation in clinical duties at Fellow (senior advanced trainee) level and in accordance with the policies and practices of the Children's Health Queensland Hospital and Health Service.
- Be an advanced trainee of RACP, ACEM or equivalent, and as such undertake to continue postgraduate medical education and training as directed by their respective College requirements. Protected time is allocated to attend regular PEM fellow education.
- Demonstrate commitment to evidence-based practice, research and quality improvement activities, including undertaking clinical audits, clinical risk management activities and guideline development.
- Contribute to registrar, resident medical officer and medical student teaching, both within the Emergency Department and the broader CHQ community.
- Be given the opportunity to consolidate their advanced training and function as a senior member of the team within Emergency, with the support and supervision of QCH Emergency Senior Medical Officers (SMO). This support extends to both clinical skills and the administrative and non-clinical responsibilities that form part of the SMO role. Protected non-clinical time will be allocated to facilitate this professional development.
Please note there are 6 & 12 month contracts available. Contracts are from 1/02/2027 to 6/02/2028.
