As a Principal Software Engineer in our SRE team, you’ll be a technical leader, designing and implementing large scale solutions, as well as influencing and engaging the organisation’s senior stakeholders on modern best practices for improving reliability throughout the SDLC. We support our people with the flexibility to balance where work is done with at least half your time each month connecting in office. We also have many other flexible working options available including changing start and finish times, part-time arrangements and job share to name a few. - Are experts in partnering with senior stakeholders and leading a culture of data-driven reliability, monitoring and automation aligned to SRE principles.
- Show deep experience in designing, developing, testing and supporting applications and systems.
- Are passionate about managing and scaling distributed systems in a public, private or hybrid cloud environment.
- Love creating and developing tools required to support the operational management (including security) of software applications and systems.
- Are adept at identifying technology limitations and deficiencies in existing systems and associated processes, procedures and methods, and using software engineering to develop scalable and sustainable improvements.
Skills We use a broad range of tools, languages, and frameworks. We don’t expect you to know them all but experience or exposure with some of these (or equivalents) will set you up for success in this team;
- CI/CD tools (i.e. Jenkins, BitBucket, TeamCity)
- Scripting/programming languages (i.e. JavaScript, TypeScript, C++, C#, Go, Python)
- Databases and networks
- Knowledge of UNIX operating systems internals and / or networking.
