See yourself in our team. Our Business Banking serves over 10,000 medium to large Australian businesses with turnovers from $10M to $500M, offering tailored insights and solutions for growth. The Client Acquisition (CA) team at CBA drives business development, supporting Commercial Banking and specialising in new-to-bank customers in WA’s mid-market segment. CA manages diverse sectors with lending needs from $10M to $50M and leads significant transactions, including M&A and other material corporate activity. Post-onboarding, clients transition to the Relationship teams, letting CA focus on new acquisitions. Do work that matters. As a Senior Associate in CA, each day brings unique challenges. You will handle complex transactions and sophisticated commercial banking deals further enhancing your financial expertise and leading you to a potential leadership career. You will conduct research, analyse data, build a client/industry database and perform highly complex financial modelling, assess new lending risks, and evaluate credit risks to support the group’s growth. Do work that matters

• Conduct financial modelling and analysis for new to bank Commercial Banking clients with complex needs.
• Prepare complex credit submissions and coordinate deal execution, including documentation and funding.
• Build strong relationships across internal teams including Risk, Global Markets, and Product Specialists.
• Actively participate in the market, engaging directly with clients, understanding their needs, and identifying opportunities for the bank to add value.
• Provide guidance and support to less experienced colleagues on complex deals, while clearly articulating credit merits and mitigating key risks.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to quickly understand complex transactions, with experience in 'new to bank' credit and risk analysis.
• Solid credit writing and commercial acumen, including strong excel skills with experience in financial modelling.
• Experience providing guidance and coaching to peers on complex clients and transactions is highly valued.
• Experience with legal documentation;
• The commitment to team success, goal oriented with a can-do attitude; and
• A tertiary qualification in Law, Business, Finance, or Commerce is highly regarded.
