The Role There are two roles that we are seeking to fill – a Senior Analyst role in the Apprenticeship Policy Branch, and a Program Reporting Officer in the Apprenticeship Operations Branch. Please indicate which position(s) you are applying for. The Senior Analyst in the Apprenticeship Policy Branch will support the Director in delivering the team’s work program. The role requires expertise in strategic assessment, analysis and negotiation and communication, drawing upon experience in policy evaluation, applied economics and data analysis. The Program Reporting Officer in the Apprenticeship Operations Branch will lead on the development of reports and analysis to assess the performance of contracted Providers to identify strength areas, and areas of concern/non-compliance. Duties And Responsibilities Duties and responsibilities for both advertised roles may include:
- Conduct research and analysis to support the design, delivery, and evaluation of Apprenticeship policies and programs and/or management of Provider performance.
- Analyse complex quantitative datasets to form evidence-based conclusions.
- Prepare and present briefs, reports, and publications for a variety of internal and external stakeholders, including directors across the division and members of the Senior Executive Service.
- Work with a team across multiple physical locations to deliver regular and bespoke reports.
- Coordinate work in a collegiate way with the other teams in the branch to ensure that the branch works together to achieve outcomes and supports a healthy culture
- Engage collaboratively with staff throughout DEWR and with other partnering agencies.
Further duties and responsibilities of the Senior Analyst role includes:
- Support the analysis of integrated datasets to evaluate the impact of policies and programs, including administrative data, surveys and financial data.
- Support in the design and plan of policy evaluations, working closely with policy areas to undertake evaluation processes, synthesising quantitative and qualitative information to inform evaluation findings and draw conclusions.
- Apply economic, competition and regulatory concepts and principles to develop responses to complex market and policy issues.
- Support policy teams and costing team to develop new policy proposals.
- Undertake economic and gender impact analysis of existing and proposed Apprenticeship policies.
Further duties and responsibilities of the Program Reporting Officer role includes:
- Assess and monitor Provider performance against a range of Key Performance Indicators and supplementary Performance Indicators.
- Develop and maintain Provider performance reports and summaries.
