The Team: The Neurological Support Service South work closely together to focus on delivering excellence in healthcare to achieve improved outcomes for our consumers, our workforce, and the Tasmanian community. The Role: As part of an inter-professional team, the Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) provides clinical leadership, assessment, care coordination and implementation of planned clinical care to patients with Neurodegenerative disease including Parkinson’s disease and associated conditions such as Progressive Supranuclear Palsy, Multisystem Atrophy, Corticobasal Degeneration and Lewy Body Dementia to enable care needs to be met in the most appropriate environment. You will need

  • Demonstrated advanced level of clinical expertise and leadership skills in the relevant practice area of Neurological Degenerative Disease, including Parkinson’s disease and associated conditions.
  • Demonstrated high level interpersonal and communication skills including mediation and conflict resolution with a proven ability to build effective workplace relationships and foster a cohesive team approach across a practice setting.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of legal requirements, including ANMC competencies, codes of practice and relevant policies that impact upon the delivery of services in the practice setting.

Note: - Please refer to the Statement of Duties for all the selection criteria of this position to address in your application. Details of appointment: Permanent, full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies. Salary: $114,851 to $121,886 per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:

  • Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10 % based on qualification type

  • Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse

  • Holds a relevant nursing tertiary qualification or is working towards a relevant post graduate tertiary qualification.
