The Team: The Clarence and Eastern Continuing Care Team are an Adult Mental Health Team covering the Clarence and Eastern vicinity of Tasmania. We are a multi-disciplinary team working alongside our consumers to provide holistic, recovery focussed mental health care. All our services work closely together to focus on delivering excellence in healthcare to achieve improved outcomes for our consumers, our workforce, and the Tasmanian community. You will need:

  • Extensive experience in and comprehensive knowledge of clinical nursing practice in a variety of settings, with at least five years post-graduate clinical nursing experience directly applicable to Mental Health settings.
  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation and awards, including the Mental Health Act, Right to Information Act, Work Health and Safety Act and relevant statutory requirements and departmental procedures and policies.
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills, including written and oral communication, negotiation and conflict resolution skills, and the proven ability to work constructively as part of a multidisciplinary team at both service and community levels.

Note: - Please refer to the Statement of Duties for all the selection criteria of this position to address in your application. Details of appointment: Permanent, full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies. Salary: $109,767 to $115,813 per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:

  • Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10% based on qualification type

  • Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse and possess specialist tertiary graduate or post graduate mental health/psychiatric nursing qualification; or completed, prior to the transfer of nurse education to the tertiary sector, an accredited hospital based program that led to registration as a psychiatric nurse by the relevant nurse regulatory authority within Australia, New Zealand, Canada or the United Kingdom
  • Current Driver’s Licence

  • Extensive, relevant psychiatric nursing experience and/or is credentialed as a Mental Health Nurse by the Australian and New Zealand College of Mental Health Nurses Inc. or equivalent
  • Holds, or is working towards, relevant tertiary qualifications
