About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join our client’s Data & Insights team. This role will be a key contributor to the migration of legacy reporting platforms and the modernization of data infrastructure. You will design and optimize scalable data pipelines, integrate multiple data sources, and ensure high-quality, reliable data delivery to support business applications and reporting.

The ideal candidate is hands-on with Azure data tools, SQL, and ETL/ELT processes, with a proven track record of delivering data engineering solutions in large-scale environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines to support enterprise data processing and reporting.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate data from multiple sources into centralized platforms.
• Support the migration of data systems from legacy to modern cloud platforms (Azure).
• Optimize back-end systems, databases, and workflows for performance and cost-efficiency.
• Ensure data quality, accuracy, and integrity across all environments.
• Troubleshoot and resolve data processing or storage challenges.
• Explore new tools, frameworks, and approaches to enhance data engineering practices.

Required Skills & Experience

• Degree in Data Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
• 3+ years of experience in Data Engineering (preferably in migration/transformation projects)
• Strong experience with ETL/ELT processes and data modeling
• Hands-on expertise in the Microsoft stack:
• Azure Data Factory
• Azure Synapse Analytics / Fabric
• SSIS
• Advanced SQL (any dialect) for transformation, optimization, and data analysis
• Experience building large-scale data pipelines
• Familiarity with cloud environments (Azure preferred)
• Strong problem-solving and collaboration skills

Nice to Have

• Exposure to Power BI and semantic data modeling (SSAS / tabular models)
• Experience defining and standardizing KPIs
• Experience with SSRS or other reporting tools
