Join our Downer Professional Services team and play a key role in delivering complex defence and national security projects that safeguard Australia’s future.
Downer Professional Services comprises of three business units our Technical, Advisory, and Capability consulting practice, and Team Downer, which partners with CASG and NSSG as a major service provider to Defence. Together, we are a multi-disciplinary advisory and delivery partner of choice for clients across Defence and National Security.
We currently have an opportunity for a Cyber Governance Technical Specialist in Canberra to enable the successful delivery of a cyber process reform project.
What You’ll Do
- Provide specialist advice and delivery support across the end-to-end Project
- Support the design, development, implementation and continuous improvement of enterprise cyber security frameworks, policy and governance arrangements
- Contribute to the uplift and implementation of Defence Security Principles Framework (DSPF) controls and compliance practices
- Support Defence responses to audit findings, including remediation planning and reporting
- Contribute to the development of cyber security policy, standards, guidance, and artefacts
- Support the development and delivery of enterprise cyber security reporting and governance outputs, including performance and compliance reporting
- Provide structured support across Cyber Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) activities, including risk identification, analysis and documentation
What You’ll Bring
- Demonstrated experience delivering within large-scale ICT or cyber security programs, ideally within Defence or Federal Government
- Strong working knowledge and practical application of Defence security frameworks, including DSPF, ISM, PSPF
- Experience in Cyber Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC), including:
- Risk assessment and treatment
- Compliance monitoring and reporting
- Strong business analysis and requirements engineering capability, including experience in:
- Process mapping and re-engineering
- Requirements elicitation and documentation
- Ability to operate effectively within complex stakeholder environments, including providing clear, risk-based advice to senior stakeholders and facilitating stakeholder engagement such as workshops and collaboration activities
- Experience developing and maintaining structured documentation, including policies, standards, process documentation, and governance artefacts
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into clear, actionable guidance
Due to the nature of the work, you are required to currently hold a AGSVA Clearance as required by the Commonwealth. In some instances, compliance with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) requirements may also be an inherent requirement
