We are seeking TWO experienced Cyber Security Architects for an initial 10 MONTH CONTRACT. You will design, review, test and assure the technical environment, solution designs and solution implementations in accordance with current and emerging security best practice. They contribute to the technical architecture and security policies and practices. Estimated start date Wednesday, 20 August 2025 Initial contract duration 10 months Extension term 12 months Number of extensions 1 Location of work ACT Working arrangements Hybrid This role is located in the Canberra office and it is expected that the you will work on site, however flexible working arrangements may be considered and agreed upon request.Maximum hours 40 hours per week Security clearance Must hold Negative Vetting Level 1 You Will
- Deliver across multiple projects in accordance with the Department’s project management solutions architecture and business delivery frameworks;
- Provide security solutions architecture support to the Security sub-programme;
- Undertake solution architecture duties as part of a project team undertaking concurrent projects under the Cyber Security program;
- Assist in the development of high level and detailed security requirements as they relate to the Cyber Security project (People, Process and Technology);
- Develop and building achievable plans based on documented business cases, high level solution architecture and identified capabilities and products;
- Track and managing deliverables that relate to the enhancement of the cyber security capability and technology improvements;
- Conduct ICT security solution architecture design, development and assessments;
- Design ICT security protections for infrastructure, middleware and business systems;
- Conduct assessments of ICT security architecture of proposed and existing solutions;
- Develop and maintaining solution architecture design documentation for security solutions;
- Manage relationships with stakeholders – both business and ICT; and
- Drive and delivering innovation to meet broader PM&C requirements.
The Must Haves:
- Minimum 5 + years continuous experience working in the IT security field and providing consulting services
- Demonstrated IT Security Risk Assessment experience
- Demonstrated high level technical writing skills, including authoring executive briefs (as required)
- Demonstrated high level of knowledge of Australian Government Security requirements
- High level knowledge and proven experience in certification practices as applicable with Australian Government standards and guidelines
- Ability to deliver to tight timeframes
Desirable
- Strong understanding of Government policies
