Job DescriptionEpworth Geelong Emergency Department are seeking Administration staff!Permanent Part-Time - Night shift In these part-time roles (casual considered) reporting into the Patient Services Centre Manager, you will be responsible for processing patient attendance in the Emergency Department and any subsequent admissions to hospital within the Patient Management System. You will also provide afterhours reception support across the hospital and administrative support to the Emergency Department and other hospital departments as required. Delivering high‑quality customer service to patients, visitors, clinicians and staff is essential. Experience with Private Health Insurance as it relates to hospital admissions is highly desirable. You will be confident in issuing patient invoices and managing the collection of associated hospital charges. You will make an impact by-

  • Supporting the hospital and medical team with all administrative requirements
  • Efficient management patient admissions, invoicing and collection of patient out-of-pocket costs.
  • Providing welcome and positive reception experience to all Epworth patients and visitors
  • Building and maintaining all stakeholder relationships
  • Creating Estimates and completing accurate Health Fund Checks
  • Contributing to continuous improvement in service delivery

To be successful in this role... You will possess a prompt and courteous customer service manner both via telephone, and in person, and you will be able to act accurately on all enquiries to ensure they are resolved in a timely, professional, and customer-centred manner. Excellent time management, organisation skills, and a high level of attention to detail and accuracy will be required in all aspects of your work. In addition to liaising closely with doctors, secretaries, and patients, responding promptly to bookings enquiries, and general administrative duties, you will also have:

  • Previous administration experience in the health care sector, medical or health fund industry (desirable)
  • Excellent communication skills with an engaging and supportive style
  • Strong computer literacy
  • The ability to work under pressure and make informed decisions aligned with hospital needs
  • Commitment to Epworth values and working in a team environment
