Pay Rate: $87.52 to $100 per hour + super

Contract: 3 months

Location: Newcastle NSW + WFH

Our government client is seeking experienced Project Managers to support the coordination of go-live readiness activities for a major migration and cutover project.

Role Purpose

The Project Manager coordinates implementation and progress of initiatives and projects outlined in the NSW Business Plan. The Project Manager ensures projects are completed on time, on budget, to quality standards, and within agreed scope.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the planning and delivery of the Business Planning & Implementation Office (BPIO) program/project objectives including but not limited to, implementation of program/project plans using appropriate tools and techniques, providing adequate reporting and escalations to senior management as required.
  • Develop and implement both predictive and adaptive project management plans to ensure the success of the project
  • Monitor and track progress of program/project performance using appropriate tools and techniques providing adequate reporting and escalations to senior management as required.
  • Regularly communicate with key stakeholders to ensure BPIO project outcomes are met, whilst building and maintaining stakeholder relationships through effective communication, negotiation
  • and issues management to ensure project deliverables are met.
  • Coordinate the work of the project team as required, to ensure agreed outcomes are achieved on time, on budget, to quality standards, and within agreed scope in line with established project management methodology and processes.
  • Identify, document and manage project risks and issues in order to minimise their impact on the project.

Essential requirements

  • Proven experience managing medium to large projects within complex service organisations, with a strong record of achievement.
  • Recognised project management qualifications (e.g., PRINCE2, PMBOK, Agile) or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver projects on time, on budget, to quality standards, and within agreed scope.
  • Hands-on experience overseeing all key aspects of project management, including scope development across multiple workstreams, developing and monitoring implementation plans, coordinating resources, reporting, risk and issue management, and managing budgets.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
