About The Role Reporting to the Logistics and Warehousing Manager, you will be responsible for all the despatch operations at the Geelong Wire Mill and the coordination of our interstate warehousing and logistics functions. You will ensure that the deliveries are despatched within deadlines and promote a continuous improvement culture. Your Responsibilities Will Include

  • Lead and motivate the despatch team through expertise and action
  • Identify process and safety improvement opportunities
  • Build and maintain excellent customer relationships
  • Conduct audits, stocktakes and training in relation to warehouse processes and procedures
  • Coordinate the duties and activities of crew members to implement despatch plans in adherence to the despatch schedules
  • Involved in the development of supply agreements, personnel training, review of warehouse layouts, supply of equipment, management of safety standards, etc.
  • Perform load checks and auditing of loads and load restraint
  • Ensure that the processes are operating in an environmentally responsible manner and as per the procedures

Requirements For This Role

  • Be a proven supervisor/leader experienced in transport, distribution or logistics
  • Have experience and or knowledge of the transport industry or warehousing
  • Understanding of capacity planning, schedule adherence and DIFOT management
  • Advanced stakeholder management, influencing and communication skills
  • High focus on team development, engagement and involvement
  • Knowledge of Chain of Responsibility, including load restraint, mass and fatigue management, etc.
  • Understanding of Supply Chain Management concepts
  • Experience in SAP
  • Effective influencing and conflict resolution skills
