We are seeking a detail-driven and proactive Plant Reliability Fitter to join our Australian operations. This role plays a critical part in ensuring smooth production flow—from incoming raw materials through to finished product shipping. Position: Plant Reliability FitterLocation: Geelong, VIC Company: Malteurop Australia Pty Ltd Reporting to: Maintenance Supervisor About The Role Malteurop Australia is seeking an experienced Plant Reliability Fitter to join our Geelong operations. This hands-on role is critical to ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of our plant through high-quality mechanical installation, maintenance, and fault-finding activities. You will work as part of a cohesive Maintenance team, collaborating closely with production staff, contractors, and management to minimise downtime and support continuous improvement across the site. Key Responsibilities

  • Install, test, and commission mechanical equipment including ducting, pipework, conveyors, elevators, and associated systems
  • Respond promptly and effectively to mechanical breakdowns to maintain plant reliability
  • Carry out preventative maintenance activities in line with the site CMMS and maintenance schedules
  • Investigate mechanical failures and implement corrective and remedial actions
  • Complete all required maintenance and installation documentation accurately
  • Provide technical support and advice to production teams, quality laboratories, and management
  • Work collaboratively with external contractors and ensure compliance with site safety, environmental, and operational standards
  • Actively participate in ISO9001, ISO14001, ISO45001, HACCP, and FSSC22000 requirements
  • Support audits, inspections, and visits from customers and industry representatives
  • Contribute to project work, corrective action initiatives, and continuous improvement activities

  • Ensure full compliance with Malteurop policies, procedures, and values
  • Adhere to all occupational health, safety, and environmental legislation, including the OHS Act 2004 and Environment Protection Act 2017 (Vic)
  • Promote a safe workplace culture and ensure contractors comply with all site requirements

Ongoing learning and development Requirements: You will bring:

  • Trade qualification in Fitting & Turning (essential)
  • Solid experience in a similar industrial or manufacturing maintenance role
  • Strong mechanical fault-finding and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with preventative maintenance systems and CMMS
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage priorities and projects
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel and Access desirable)
  • Ability to build effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders

Desirable but not essential:

  • EWP (Elevated Work Platform) licence
