Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will work closely with the Trust Accounting team to manage the firm’s Trust accounting processes in an efficient and effective manner, including transactions and reporting on the firm’s Trust account/s and client Controlled Monies Accounts. This is a full time or part-time opportunity (minimum of 3 days per week), and the successful candidate must be available to work on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. We are open to this role being located in any of the following states: Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Newcastle or Adelaide. You will be responsible for:

  • preparation of and processing for all deposits, transfers and payments to the Trust accounts/s or the CMA;
  • reconciliation of all transactions in the Trust account/s and CMAs;
  • managing the daily Trust bank reconciliation;
  • preparation of the necessary documentation for the opening and closing of any Trust account/s and CMAs;
  • preparation of Trust account/s and CMA’s reporting on a monthly and annual basis or as otherwise required;
  • preparation of working papers and other supporting schedules required to satisfy the Trust account/s and CMAs internal control reviews and audits;
  • assisting with Trust audit requirements; and
  • assisting with dormant Trust account balances.

About You You will ideally have the following skills and experience:

  • relevant tertiary qualification;
  • 3+ years of trust accounting experience in a professional services environment;
  • strong knowledge of Victorian Trust Account Regulations;
  • strong customer service focus and strong attention to detail;
  • proactive and strong problem-solving abilities;
  • excellent organisation skills and ability to plan and prioritise;
  • ability to work autonomously and interact in a team environment; and
  • excellent written and verbal communication skills.
