Why Come And Work With Us This position provides an opportunity to work for the largest local health district in NSW at a Level 6, tertiary referral, major trauma and teaching hospital - serving a population of 900,000+ across the Hunter, New England and Lower Mid North Coast areas. John Hunter Hospital is the largest hospital in Hunter New England Local Health District with approximately 650 beds and growing and we have strong, innovative connections with Hunter Medical Research Institute and University of Newcastle. John Hunter Hospital contains the only trauma centre in New South Wales outside the Sydney Metropolitan Area and has one of the busiest emergency department in the state. We provide primary and tertiary trauma services to the people of the Hunter Valley and tertiary trauma services to the people of the Central Coast, New England, and Mid North Coast regions of New South Wales. With support from the Westpac Rescue Helicopter and NSW Ambulance, the hospital provides a retrieval service for critically ill patients from the Hunter and North Coast. Some Requirements Of The Role

• Applicants must possess a primary medical degree registered with AHPRA and hold Fellowship with the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine (ACEM)
• Be availability to commence prior to 1 September 2026
• Attend and be available during rostered work hours and whilst on-call including clinical handover, clinical supervision, teaching and for emergency and routine care as determined and required by HNELHD.
• Respond on site within a reasonable time when on call
• Provide education and support to MDT and junior colleagues
