What you'll be doing The Sterilisation Technician is primarily responsible for the preparation, sterilisation, storage and thermal disinfection of reusable medical & surgical instruments and equipment to prevent the transmission of infection, working within a large team under routine supervision. Selection Criteria
- Completion of a Certificate III in Sterilisation Services at TAFE, or equivalent (enables appointment to Grade 2) or working towards completion of a Certificate III in Sterilisation Services at TAFE or equivalent (enables appointment at Grade 1, and on supply of completed Cert III, incumbent will move to a Grade 2)
- Physically capable of carrying out all duties standing for long periods, lifting pushing and pulling loads, as outlined in the Job Demands Checklist for this role.
- Demonstrated interpersonal written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to follow directions from line management and senior staff and work independently under routine supervision.
- Ability to relate well to others and work effectively as a member of a team.
- Ability to apply a problem solving approach to work tasks.
