Operations Manager

Our Hume Branch in Canberra is looking for an ambitious and motivated leader to join the team to oversee the logistics and warehousing operations. Reporting to the Branch Manager, you will be responsible for managing the day to day operations working in collaboration with multiple stakeholders, including on-road contractor crews. This role is critical in the leadership of our Hume Branch and a strong working relationship with the Branch Manager is key to its success. You will have autonomy and authority to make impactful decisions and every decision you make will be driven by safety, service and cost. A strong people manager who is process driven will also ensure we achieve our business goals for performance, productivity and profitability. Some Of What You Will Be Doing

• Leading, coaching, mentoring, and managing your operational team to provide exceptional customer service and positive outcomes
• Manage operational service delivery issues to resolution and working with stakeholders to identify opportunities for improvement
• Being solution focused, you’ll create action plans and gain commitment through the business to achieve outcomes
• Control the activities of Operations in a cost-effective manner that has safety at the forefront
• Empower your people to go the extra mile so that the Hume operations becomes the benchmark for best practice

• Possess strong business acumen and change management skills
• Ability to positively impact culture through leadership
• Ability to demonstrate structured work practices and are process oriented
• Successful management of contractors and compliance
• Customer focused with strong people management skills

• Your commercial acumen means you understand what’s needed to support a successful business
• Sound operational understanding to juggle labour, equipment, warehousing, purchasing and the forward thinking to keep on top of it all
• You know and understand people and you invest in their development and training
• Good understanding of operational efficiency and cost control
