About The Opportunity We have a fantastic opportunity for a Telesales Clerk on a full-time basis, located in our Darwin office. The Telesales Clerk is responsible for the input of customer orders to the computer. Customer orders may be received by Sales Consultants, email, telephone or fax. Upon completion the clerk will contact the customer to notify of lines not available for supply and offer a substitute, inform of new products on the market and specials available. Redirect or answer all customer queries politely. Assist with price inquiries and quotes where special prices are not necessary. Support all programmes run by the Sales Manager to further the company’s market share and image in the community. In this Role

• Processing customer orders promptly and accurately.
• Communicating unavailable items and offering suitable alternatives.
• Responding to customer enquiries or directing them to the appropriate department.
• Handling credit requests and following internal procedures.
• Keeping customers informed about special offers, new products, and service updates.
• Notifying the purchasing team of unusually high-volume sales.
• Maintaining awareness of HACCP, Food Safety, OH&S, and Equal Opportunity policies.

• Pleasant telephone manner and accurate keyboard skills.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities, with the ability to stay calm under pressure.
• Proactive approach to learning product knowledge and identifying sales opportunities.
• Strong time management skills and an understanding of promotions and incentives.
• Ability to work collaboratively with Independent Grocers Darwin and maintain professional relationships.
• Commitment to meeting freight and delivery deadlines while working efficiently throughout the day.
