About the role:

We have a great opportunity for an enthusiastic Ophthalmology Clinical Nurse Specialist Theatre to join our clinical team on a full time basis. Monday to Friday flexible roster, no on-call, weekends, public holidays or trauma

Duties and responsibilities:

This role will see you working collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary healthcare team to support patient care needs and deliver exceptional clinical outcomes.

  • Lead the nursing team to deliver safe, evidence-based patient care
  • Manage team rosters, workloads and delegation of tasks
  • supporting the GM/ DON and NUM in quality activities and procurement
  • requires experienced Perioperative Ophthalmology Registered Scrub/ Scout Nurse
  • Ensure the theatre complex and equipment are ready for surgery
  • Ensure patient safety and communication with surgical team is always a key focus
  • Monitor and evaluate patient recovery, addressing any complications
  • Deliver education and support to patients for the management of their recovery

About You:

You have a genuine passion for nursing, providing world-class patient care and adding value to Australian healthcare. You will have:

  • Solid experience as an Ophthalmology scrub/ scout Registered Nurse in a theatre / perioperative setting
  • Post graduate qualifications in Nursing desirable
  • Current AHPRA registration
  • Advanced clinical and technical skills including problem solving skills
  • A passion for education, mentoring and leadership
  • Experience in the below specialties highly desirable
  • A background in private day hospitals preferred
