Join Australia’s Zero-Emission Transport Revolution
Want to future-proof your HR career in a business that’s actually changing how people move?
NSBC Group — part of the GoZero Group — is leading the transition to zero-emission transport. With a growing workforce of 340 employees and a fleet of 300+ vehicles, we’re building the future of sustainable mobility.
We’re now looking for a hands-on HR Manager (Operations) to take full ownership of the HR function and partner closely with our operational leaders.
This is a stand-alone HR leadership role (with dedicated recruitment support) where you’ll have real influence, autonomy, and the ability to shape how HR operates in a blue-collar, depot-based environment.
Why This Role Stands Out
- Own the entire HR function — end-to-end responsibility with full autonomy
- Highly operational role — work directly with frontline leaders and drivers
- Be part of a growing, future-focused business in the EV transition
- Strong leadership access — work closely with senior decision-makers
- Build systems, structure and culture — not just maintain them
- On-site parking at our Chullora HQ
- Professional development and career growth opportunities
- Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
About the Role
This is not a “sit behind a desk” HR role.
You’ll be the go-to HR leader supporting a predominantly driver workforce, dealing with the real, day-to-day challenges of a high-volume, operational business.
You’ll work closely with Operations, Safety, Payroll and Driver Training to ensure our workforce is engaged, compliant and performing.
What You’ll Do
- Act as the sole HR lead across a 340-person workforce
- Partner with depot and operational leaders on performance, conduct and attendance management
- Provide practical, timely advice on employee relations and workplace issues
- Interpret and apply Modern Awards and employment legislation
- Support and coach leaders through difficult conversations and investigations
- Oversee onboarding, induction and workforce planning
- Work alongside a dedicated recruiter to ensure strong hiring outcomes
- Align closely with Safety on WHS, compliance and incident management
- Review, build and improve HR policies, processes and systems
- Contribute to building a practical, high-accountability culture across the business
What You’ll Bring
- Proven experience in a hands-on HR role (HR Manager, HRBP or senior HR Generalist)
- Experience supporting blue-collar or operational workforces (transport, logistics, manufacturing, construction or similar)
- Strong capability in performance management, employee relations and investigations
- Solid understanding of Modern Awards and Australian employment law
- A practical, no-nonsense approach to HR — you get things done
- Confidence working independently as a stand-alone HR function
- Ability to build credibility with frontline leaders and drivers
- Strong communication and influencing skills across all levels
- Tertiary qualifications in HR or related field (highly regarded)
- Australian working rights
The Reality of the Role
This role will suit someone who:
- Enjoys being close to the operation, not removed from it
- Is comfortable dealing with real workforce issues, not just policy
- Wants ownership and accountability, not a narrow remit
- Can balance people, performance and compliance in a fast-moving environment
If you’re looking for a role where you can take full ownership of HR and make a visible impact every day, we’d like to hear from you.
