About the role:
The Product Delivery Manager will play a critical role in delivering a unified digital experience for Australia’s agricultural cross border trade by consolidating multiple import and export service portals into a single platform. This role requires strategic leadership, stakeholder management at the executive level, and deep expertise in digital product delivery, service design, an understanding of digital identity and profile management and an ability to lead within complex, high-stakes environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Quickly develop and own the product roadmap to unify multiple portals into a single digital platform for agricultural trade services.
- Lead the rationalisation of a range of existing portals into one integrated service, ensuring business continuity and minimal disruption.
- Align product development with the broader digital transformation strategy, agreed government architectures and cyber security standards and government priorities.
- Champion a customer-first approach ensuring the roadmap reflects user needs, policy requirements, and is technical feasible.
- Collaborate with and influence key executive stakeholders to achieve a unified approach.
- Manage competing interests and build consensus to drive product outcomes and delivery.
- Work closely with multidisciplinary teams (digital ID, UX, developers, testers, and business operations) to ensure timely and quality delivery.
- Translate policy, compliance and operational requirements into practical digital services.
- Oversee product backlogs and ensure decisions are evidence-based and aligned to user research.
- Report progress, risks, and issues to program governance forums.
Experience:
- Proven experience as a Product Lead or Senior Product Manager in large-scale digital transformation initiatives, particularly in the development of authenticated customer portal.
- Demonstrated ability to define and execute a product roadmap in complex, multi-stakeholder environments.
- Strong understanding of the government’s digital identity policy and product landscape, user-centred design, agile delivery frameworks, and service design principles.
- Highly developed stakeholder management with the ability to influence across diverse groups.
- Experience leading change management initiatives within digital transformation programs.
- Ability to interpret and deliver against government policy objectives and legislative requirements.
- Familiarity with API integrations in service delivery.
- Knowledge of import/export processes, agricultural trade regulations, or government service delivery.
- Experience working in federal government programs or regulated industries.
