• Network Planning Engineer
• Senior Network Planning Engineer
• Principal Network Planning Engineer
• Strategy & Planning Engineer – Future Energy
These are opportunities to work on the evolving challenges facing electricity networks, including renewable integration, changing demand, major new connections and long-term network development.
About the Company
Our client is a major Australian electricity distribution network operator responsible for critical electricity infrastructure and the long-term development of its network.
With Australia's energy system undergoing significant transformation, the organisation is strengthening its network planning and future energy capability to respond to changing generation, customer demand, emerging technologies and increasingly complex network requirements.
Multiple opportunities are available across its Network Planning and Strategic Planning & Forecasting functions.
Key Responsibilities
Depending on the position and level, you may be responsible for:
• Undertaking power system modelling, simulation and network planning studies
• Assessing network performance, constraints and future network requirements
• Supporting the integration of renewable generation, major loads and emerging connections
• Using tools such as PowerFactory, PSS/E and PSCAD for power system analysis
• Contributing to strategic planning, forecasting and long-term network development
• Applying programming, data analytics and automation to future energy planning challenges
• Developing technical recommendations to support network planning and investment decisions
• Providing technical leadership on complex planning studies at Senior and Principal levels
Requirements
• Electrical or power systems engineering background with relevant electricity network experience
• Experience across network planning, power system studies, system analysis or a closely related discipline
• Exposure to PowerFactory, PSS/E, PSCAD or comparable power system simulation tools
• Strong analytical capability with the ability to turn complex technical analysis into practical recommendations
• For the Strategy & Planning Engineer – Future Energy role, programming, data analytics, forecasting or data science capability will be highly regarded
