Our Tier 1 Mining Client is looking for an experienced Material & Logistics Officer to join a major project delivery team.
Roster: 5/2 Perth CBD location
Start date: ASAP
Duration: approx. 12 months - with potential to extend
Pay Rate: $60.00 p/h + Super depending on experience

The Role
This role will be responsible for coordinating the procurement and movement of equipment and materials from suppliers through to project sites, ensuring orders, deliveries and logistics activities are managed efficiently and in line with project requirements.
Based in the Perth CBD, you will work closely with project, procurement, engineering, contracts and logistics teams, as well as suppliers and freight providers.
Key Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To
- Creating and managing Purchase Requisitions and Purchase Orders
- Managing procurement activities through SAP
- Coordinating Requests for Quote (RFQs) and Expressions of Interest (EOIs)
- Sourcing goods and services and identifying suitable suppliers and contractors
- Liaising with suppliers to confirm specifications, quantities and delivery requirements
- Monitoring purchase orders, delivery schedules and procurement activities
- Coordinating the movement of equipment and materials through the supply chain to site
- Planning and monitoring freight and logistics activities
- Coordinating collections, deliveries and site receipt of materials
- Supporting customs clearance and associated logistics activities
- Conducting market research and supplier evaluation
- Monitoring procurement performance and supporting continuous improvement initiatives
- Working closely with the Project Manager - Procurement to ensure procurement activities are delivered on schedule
- Identifying and resolving issues that may impact procurement or material delivery
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar material, procurement or logistics role
- Strong knowledge of procurement processes, policies and systems
- Proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Office
- Experience managing purchase requisitions, purchase orders and supplier relationships
- Experience coordinating freight, logistics and material movements
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent stakeholder and supplier relationship management skills
- The ability to work autonomously while collaborating effectively with project teams
- A tertiary qualification in Business Administration, Procurement, Contract Management or a related discipline will be highly regarded.
- A forklift licence is desirable but not essential
