Technical Officer

As an entry-level Technical Officer based in Clayton, Victoria, you will report to the Technical Customer Support Group Leader. You will provide technical expertise to the manufacturing and sales teams to support existing products and use this expertise to help develop and introduce new products. Responsibilities

• Analyse and resolve Architectural product colour problems.
• Modify tint formulae of current colours to improve colour match.
• Formulate and develop tint formulae for new colours as requested by Marketing and Sales team.
• Provide technical advice on colour to sales, marketing, and customers
• Produce sales aids.
• Support the marketing team with developing new colour collateral materials.
• Maintain the database of colour tint formulae for the tinting platform in stores
• Conduct testing and verification of alternate sources of raw materials, and issuing specifications.
• Optimize formula process times and quality
• Maintain and improve existing products

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science or equivalent with a chemistry major
• Minimum 1-2 years of experience in the surface coatings industry gained in product development and technical service
• Knowledge of paint technology and relevant paint application processes
• Presentation and report writing skills
• Experience with experimental Design
