The Opportunity:
You’ll run the Accounting team day to day, so our Head of Accounting can focus on the bigger picture. You own the results: jobs done on time, the monthly billing plan hit, quality held and clients looked after.
You’ll report to the Head of Accounting and work closely with the wider RDA Group team.
The role
- Workflow and capacity: Plan team capacity, schedule jobs and deliver the monthly billing plan.
- Momentum: Help the team through technical roadblocks and key decisions so work keeps moving.
- Quality: Review and sign off compliance and advisory work and set the standard for accuracy and presentation.
- Client experience: Manage client communication so every touchpoint is a great one.
- Advisory: Deliver advisory work that gets real commercial results for clients.
- People: Build training and development plans and keep the team working toward the same goals.
- Coordination: Work across the accounting team, the Head of Accounting and the wider group. Get what you need to close jobs and escalate only what needs escalating.
- Systems: Build and roll out the processes that keep the team performing at its best.
What you bring
- CA or CPA qualification
- Six or more years in Australian public practice, including at least two years leading or reviewing a team
- Strong technical knowledge across individuals, companies, trusts and SMSFs
- A track record of hitting deadlines and billing targets through good planning, not overtime
- Clear, precise communication, both verbal and written
- Commercial judgement: you see the client outcome, not just the task
