Payroll Officer

We’re now seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Payroll Officer to join our team and play a key role in supporting our store & restaurant teams across multiple Retail Zoo brands.

In this role, you’ll support the timely and accurate delivery of weekly payroll across multiple brands while partnering closely with managers and stakeholders to provide payroll guidance, insights, and support. You’ll play an important role in maintaining payroll compliance, supporting payroll audits and reporting, and helping ensure our team members are paid correctly and on time.

Key Responsibilities

• Process end-to-end weekly payroll across multiple Retail Zoo brands, with a strong focus on accuracy and compliance.
• Maintain employee records and payroll information to a high standard of accuracy.
• Prepare payroll reports and support reporting needs for managers and finance teams.
• Manage superannuation processing and ensure all statutory obligations are met.
• Provide guidance on payroll, superannuation, employee benefits, terminations, and parental leave to all our Team Members.
• Support payroll system audits and identify opportunities for process improvement.
• Maintain our time and attendance system and assist with end-of-month and end-of-year processing and reconciliations.
• Assist with Workers Compensation administration and payroll-related compliance requirements.

Our Ideal Candidate

• At least 5 years' experience in a fast moving payroll environment.
• Strong knowledge of payroll legislation, tax, superannuation, and employment law.
• Experience interpreting Awards and Enterprise Agreements; Fast Food Industry Award experience is highly desirable.
• High attention to detail with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
• Experience working with a highly casualised workforce.
• Intermediate Excel skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and large data sets.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage effectively across all levels of the business.
• Experience with iChris (or Chris21) is highly desirable.
• The ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
