Senior Structural Engineer

Ricaya is a progressive, fast-growing consultancy based in Surfers Paradise, Gold Coast. We’re on the hunt for a talented Senior Structural Engineer ready to step into a leadership role within our dynamic team.

From day one, you’ll work on an exciting mix of structural projects—from complex multi-storey and commercial developments to high-end custom homes — while helping drive innovation, quality, and project delivery across the board.

About the RoleAs a Lead Structural Engineer at Ricaya, you will:

• Lead the design and delivery of structural engineering solutions across diverse residential and commercial projects.
• Oversee project planning, team coordination, and ensure on-time, high-quality delivery.
• Collaborate closely with architects, builders, and consultants to ensure practical, innovative outcomes.
• Mentor junior engineers and support our drafting team to produce accurate and well-documented designs.
• Ensure compliance with Australian Standards, codes, and best practices.
• Play a key role in business development and client relationship management—contributing to proposals, networking, and helping grow our project pipeline.
• Contribute to continuous improvement across our workflows, systems, and technical standards.

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering (or equivalent recognised in Australia).
• 6+ years of proven structural engineering experience in Australia, with a strong focus on residential and commercial projects.
• In-depth technical knowledge, particularly in concrete and steel structural systems, with an understanding of seismic design principles where applicable.
• Proficient in industry-standard software such as RAM Concept, ETABS, and SpaceGass.
• Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status is highly regarded, or actively working towards chartership.
• Demonstrated experience in managing projects and leading technical teams.
• Strong commercial awareness, risk management capability, and sound engineering judgement.
• Passionate about mentoring junior team members, promoting a collaborative culture, and delivering exceptional client outcomes.
• Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• ✔️ Bonus: A background in business development, with existing industry relationships or a demonstrated ability to bring in work, will be highly regarded.Key Responsibilities

• Design and analyse a variety of building structures.
• Review and prepare drawings, models, and reports.
• Work with internal teams to develop practical, buildable designs.
• Coordinate with clients, architects, and consultants during the design process.
• Attend meetings and visit sites when needed.
• Provide technical support and guidance to the team.
