HSE Advisor (Casual)

SAFESCOPE Consulting is seeking an experienced HSE Advisor to join our mining client's team at their Kwinana Refinery. Embedded on-site, you'll provide hands-on HSE support across day-to-day operations, partnering with operations, contractors, and site leadership to manage risk, meet legislative requirements, and drive a strong safety culture

• Location: Kwinana, WA
• Duration: 3-month engagement
• Rate: $75 – $90 per hour
• Flexible engagement options PAYG or ABN

Key responsibilities

• Provide on-the-ground HSE advisory support across refinery operations and maintenance activities
• Conduct hazard identification, risk assessments, and site safety inspections
• Support incident investigation, root cause analysis, and corrective action tracking
• Review and develop JSAs, PTWs, and safe work procedures
• Liaise with contractors to ensure HSE compliance and safe work practices
• Assist with HSE reporting, audits, and management system documentation

Qualifications and experience:

• Minimum 3–5 years' HSE experience in the mining industry, with demonstrated exposure to processing or refinery environments
• Strong working knowledge of WHS Legislation
• Proven experience with permit-to-work systems, hazard management, and incident investigation frameworks
• Cert IV in Work Health & Safety (minimum); Diploma or Degree highly regarded
• Lead Auditor qualification advantageous
• Excellent communication skills and ability to engage at all levels of an organisation
• Current driver's licence and ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol screen
