Senior Quality Engineer

The Role Due to more growth with our Victorian team, Symal Infrastructure are looking to appoint a Senior Quality Engineer. As Senior Quality Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in developing and executing project quality strategies and ensuring robust systems are in place to drive compliance, continuous improvement, and operational excellence. Your Every Day

• Implement, monitor, and enhance Quality Management Systems (QMS) across major projects, ensuring alignment with complex scopes and contract requirements.
• Represent quality in stakeholder engagements, including client meetings and audits, providing updates, analysis, and recommendations for improvement.
• Develop and oversee project-specific quality documentation, such as Quality Plans, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), procedures, and verification tools.
• Lead audits and non-conformance management, driving corrective actions and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
• Mentor junior quality staff and promote quality best practices across project teams, subcontractors, and field personnel.
• Ensure compliance and resolve complex quality issues, meeting legislative, contractual, and technical standards, and supporting project start-up activities.

Who are you?

• Extensive quality and engineering background with tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering or Construction Management, and a Diploma in Quality Auditing (highly desirable).
• Over 7 years of experience in quality roles, including 3+ years in leadership within major infrastructure or civil construction projects, ideally with MRPV exposure.
• Strong technical knowledge of ISO 9001, TfNSW, VicRoads/MRPV specifications, and digital quality systems like Procore, Aconex, or TeamBinder.
• Proven leadership in audits and compliance, with a track record of implementing large-scale quality systems and driving continuous improvement.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence, negotiate, and foster a proactive quality culture.
• Skilled in mentoring, problem-solving, and multitasking, with high attention to detail, resilience, and a strong client focus.
