Due to an increased demand within our business, SYPAQ are seeking a Systems Engineer with Defence experience for a long-term opportunity with a Defence client. This can be a perm role with SYPAQ or a long-term contract. The role is based at Fairbairn Defence Establishment Canberra. Overview Systems Engineer will work with Program / Project Manager for delivery of the task. The purpose of this team is to define and remediate C4I Capability gaps and it shall do this by collectively managing planning & delivery as a structured body of work. The Team Will Augment Within The PMT Structure And Deliver Outcomes Of The Nature Of An Integrated Project Team/project Management Office Working Closely With a Variety Of Internal/external Agencies And Delivery Groups To Manage And Deliver Each Capability Line Of Effort. To Deliver These Outcomes, The Team Will Conduct
- Detailed planning of scope and schedule for each LOE, inclusive of any synchronisation between LOEs, integration and convergence of these LOEs with major projects.
- Develop the minimum artefacts necessary to describe need, requirements, risk management, project execution and governance, sustainment planning, Fundamental Inputs to Capability (FIC) integration and Introduction-Into-Service (IIS)
- Internal reports and returns, and/or decision-making artefacts.
Deliverables
- Manage the planning and delivery of the Program
- Conduct program planning activities, to produce an executable plan of synchronised projects that details the approval, acquisition, delivery and introduction-into-service phases.
- Contribute to concept and scope development for projects.
- Develop and achieve a balance between adequate rigour and accelerated project delivery.
- Coordinate liaison with Program stakeholders, incl but not limited to approval authorities, finance organisations, delivery groups.
- Provide reports and returns to A68, for Director C4I and/or higher audiences, including but not limited to status reporting and recommendations for improvements to the Program.
- Develop and progress Program capability development activities.
- Contribute to concept development for each project, incl but not limited to advising on technical options and opportunities for reduction in cost of ownership.
- Produce Program artefacts for approval and execution, IOT support each project phase – ie, planning, approvals, acquisition, delivery, and introduction into service.
- Represent Program/projects in relevant engineering fora with delivery groups and other stakeholders.
- Liaise with delivery group engineering authorities during IIS planning and execution, to ensure system change approvals, logistics support etc.
Systems Engineering qualifications, or qualifications within a relevant field, with a minimum of five years’ experience supporting Defence projects. Demonstrated ability to engage with Defence stakeholders including ADF, APS and contractors. The successful applicant must be an Australian Citizen with an existing NV2 Security Clearance.
