We are now looking for a commercially minded Business Development Manager / Recruitment Specialist to help grow our presence across the construction and infrastructure sector.
The Opportunity
This is a growth role for someone who understands the construction and infrastructure ecosystem and enjoys building trusted relationships with clients.
You will work closely with the Partners on the identification and development of new client relationships, whilst also working closely with our network of consultants to match the right expertise to each engagement.
This role will suit someone who combines industry credibility with a strong commercial instinct, who is comfortable opening doors, winning work and building long-term partnerships.
Key ResponsibilitiesBusiness Development
- Identify and develop new client relationships across construction, infrastructure, engineering and advisory organisations
- Build relationships with senior decision makers including project directors, commercial managers, legal teams and executives
- Proactively generate new mandates and consulting engagements
- Represent The Bench at industry events and within professional networks
Client Management
- Act as a trusted advisor to clients seeking specialist project expertise
- Understand project requirements and define engagement scopes
- Provide solutions by matching the right consultants from The Bench network
Recruitment & Network Development
- Identify, engage and onboard high-calibre professionals across construction, infrastructure and advisory disciplines
- Maintain and grow The Bench’s network of consultants
- Ensure quality and cultural fit across engagements
Commercial Delivery
- Manage engagements from initial brief through to consultant placement
- Negotiate commercial terms and engagement structures
- Support repeat work and long-term client relationships
Ideal Background
We are open to candidates from a variety of backgrounds, provided they understand the construction and infrastructure sector and have strong relationship-building skills.
Examples include:
- Recruitment consultants specialising in construction or infrastructure
- Lawyers or legal professionals who have worked in construction / projects environments
- Commercial or advisory professionals within infrastructure organisations
- Business development professionals within engineering, consulting or professional services firms
