Here’s your opportunity to help our people make a big impact. In this role, you'll: Part of a newly formed team. You’ll be involved in shaping the way Regional Guards are trained—designing and delivering programs that are practical, scalable, and tailored to the needs of a diverse workforce across the state. This isn’t about ticking boxes; it’s about ensuring people are safe, confident, and capable in their day-to-day responsibilities. You’ll collaborate closely with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), drawing out their knowledge and transforming it into clear, effective learning solutions. Whether it’s developing train crew safe working materials or ensuring every course meets mandatory regulatory requirements, you’ll be the link between technical expertise and accessible training. Your role will also see you consulting and guiding stakeholders across NSW TrainLink and Transport for NSW, helping them navigate change and build capability in ways that are innovative and sustainable. This is a hands-on role where you’ll be creating and developing new training materials, ensuring they’re not only well-designed but also practical and aligned with the needs of the workforce. With your safe working traction and RAP knowledge, and your experience in developing role-specific courses, you’ll be preparing materials that meet both operational needs and regulatory standards. For more information on this position and business unit, view the role description and information pack.About You To succeed in this role, you’ll bring a strong foundation in adult learning principles and instructional design, with the ability to manage projects end-to-end—from task analyses and curriculum design to training aids and assessment systems. In this safety-critical and industrially sensitive environment, your skill in balancing creativity with compliance will be essential. Collaboration will be at the heart of your work, as you build partnerships that ensure capability strategies are effective, enduring, and fully compliant. Reporting into the Manager of Training and Competence, you’ll need proven experience in writing technical content, a Certificate IV in Training & Assessment (TAE40122). An understanding of regulatory requirements, including mapping, is essential, as is experience working in highly industrialised environments. Tertiary qualifications in adult education, instructional design, or eLearning will be highly regarded, along with experience developing role-specific courses for train crew. Just as important is your ability to support complex business change, facilitate diverse groups, and communicate with clarity and precision. If you’ve experience in written training materials for train crew, worked in industrial environments, and hold qualifications in Certificate IV in Training & Assessment (TAE40122), this role offers you the chance to apply your expertise in a way that directly impacts safety, confidence, and capability across the transport network.
