Payroll & Accounts Advisor

A well-established and expanding workforce solutions provider supporting Australia's mining and drilling sectors is seeking an experienced Payroll & Accounts Advisor to join its team on a full-time basis commencing in January. This is a key role within the business, supporting high-volume operations and ensuring payroll is processed accurately, compliantly and on time. You will work closely with leadership and operational teams in a fast-paced environment. The Role Reporting to senior leadership, you will be responsible for weekly end-to-end payroll, processed each Wednesday, along with supporting invoicing, compliance and continuous process improvement initiatives. What You'll Be Doing

• Processing weekly end-to-end payroll
• Entering, validating and reconciling timesheets accurately and on schedule
• Interpreting and applying awards, allowances, overtime, penalties, site rates and travel requirements
• Responding to payroll-related enquiries from employees, clients and internal stakeholders in a professional and approachable manner
• Preparing weekly invoicing, back charges and assisting with end-of-month processes
• Creating and maintaining pay and bill agreements, rate templates and compliance documentation
• Identifying opportunities for payroll system and process improvements

Role Requirements

• Minimum 2 years' experience in a Payroll Officer role
• Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency status
• Solid understanding of penalty rates, allowances, bonuses, overtime and travel requirements
• Proven ability to meet strict payroll deadlines in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy and problem-solving skills
• Experience with Xero, Tanda and ConnectTeams (desirable)
• Background in mining, resources, construction or recruitment environments (desirable)
• Strong communication skills and/ stakeholder management ability
