The UGL/TasWater alliance are currently recruiting for a Site Engineer to ensure that construction activities on site are executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with the project’s design, quality, and regulatory requirements. This is a full time, fixed term contract role. Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily site operations related to civil and mechanical construction activities, ensuring alignment with TasWater’s quality, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Liaise with contractors, subcontractors, consultants, and TasWater representatives to ensure effective communication and timely progress of works.
  • Track project milestones, review construction drawings, and ensure all works are carried out in accordance with design specifications and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records including site diaries, quality assurance documents, and daily progress reports; assist with preparation of ITP’s, RFI’s and NCRs as needed.
  • Promote and enforce compliance with all health, safety and environmental protocols on site, identifying and mitigating potential risks proactively.

About You

  • Tertiary Qualification in Engineer, (civil or mechanical engineering preferred) with eligibility for Engineers Australia membership being advantageous.
  • Experience in Water Infrastructure Projects – Prior involvement in water or wastewater treatment plant construction or major utility infrastructure projects.
  • Strong understanding of methodologies – including the ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and apply relevant codes and standards.
  • Proficiency in site documentation and systems – familiarity with construction management tools (e.g Aconex, Procure, or similar), and experience preparing ITP’s, SWMS, RFI’s, and progress reports.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills – ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and manage subcontractor performance in a dynamic site environment.
