About Wonderful Mind

Wonderful Mind is an innovative, multidisciplinary allied health and mental health practice dedicated to supporting children, young people, and families. We take a holistic, child-centered approach to care, integrating traditional allied health services with creative therapy modalities, including play therapy, art therapy, and music therapy.

Our growing clinical team includes occupational therapists, psychologists, and creative arts therapists working collaboratively to provide neurodiversity-affirming, highly tailored support. We are looking for a passionate Speech Pathologist to join our vibrant team and contribute to our deeply integrated care model.

The Role

We are seeking an empathetic and skilled Speech Pathologist to provide comprehensive assessment and intervention for children and adolescents. Because we are open to practitioners at the Grade 1, Grade 2, or Senior level, the role will be tailored to your clinical experience and leadership aspirations.

Whether you are a recently graduated clinician looking to grow within a supportive multidisciplinary team, or a Senior practitioner eager to take on clinical supervision and program development, Wonderful Mind provides a flexible and nurturing environment to advance your career.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Care: Conduct comprehensive speech, language, and communication assessments for children and adolescents.
Intervention: Develop and deliver evidence-based, neurodiversity-affirming therapy plans tailored to individual client needs.

Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Work closely with our art therapists, play therapists, occupational therapists, and psychologists to ensure holistic, wrap-around care for clients.
Family Support: Provide education, coaching, and ongoing support to parents and caregivers.

Documentation: Maintain accurate, timely clinical notes and prepare comprehensive assessment reports.
Mentorship (Senior Roles): For Senior candidates, provide clinical supervision to junior staff, lead case reviews, and assist in developing specialized group programs (such as our school holiday initiatives).

About You

Qualifications: Tertiary qualification in Speech Pathology.
Registration: Current Certified Practicing Speech Pathologist (CPSP) status with Speech Pathology Australia (SPA).
Experience: Open to all levels. Grade 1 candidates must show a strong passion for pediatric care. Grade 2 and Senior candidates must demonstrate established clinical experience, with Seniors possessing prior experience in mentoring or complex caseload management.

Approach: A warm, playful, and child-led clinical style that aligns with our focus on creative and expressive therapies.
Requirements: Valid Working with Children Check (WWCC), National Police Check, and professional indemnity insurance.

What We Offer

  • Competitive Remuneration: $110,000 – $130,000 salary package, tailored to your experience level and chosen employment structure (contractor rates also available).
  • Flexibility: Choose your preferred engagement model (Full-time, Part-time, or Contract) and your primary clinic location (Doreen, Craigieburn, or Mount Waverley).
  • Unique Clinical Environment: The opportunity to co-treat and collaborate daily with creative arts therapists and psychologists in a uniquely holistic setting.
  • Professional Development: Dedicated time and funding for ongoing professional development, plus regular multidisciplinary peer supervision.
  • Culture: A warm, beautifully designed clinic environment and a highly supportive leadership team that values clinician wellbeing just as much as client outcomes.
