The Role
We’re looking for a talented Project Architect with experience working in teams in the design and delivery of large, complex projects. In this role, you will work closely with the Principal in Charge and Project Leader, collaborating with other package leaders, team members, clients, third‑party consultants, and other stakeholders.
You will be an experienced Project Architect with the capability to lead small teams and packages, working across multiple project phases, particularly from Concept Design through to Design Development, guiding both design and documentation with clarity and purpose. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, along with a client‑focused approach, are essential.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
- Support the Project Leader and Principal in Charge in delivering the project brief.
- Produce design deliverables in line with the project brief and required standards.
- Coordinate effectively with external multidisciplinary consultants, including clash detection and cross‑checking drawings and Revit models.
- Prepare and present detailed architectural design drawings, design proposals, and specifications, with a strong focus on design development and resolution.
- Develop and document functional and spatial requirements to support design and technical outcomes.
- Consult with contractors, consultants, and other professionals to coordinate the project and resolve issues.
- Clearly communicate design intent to internal teams, contractors, and consultants.
- Keep supervisors updated on project progress and emerging issues.
- Contribute to design thinking, research, and exploration throughout all project phases.
- Collaborate with the design team to review, refine, and resolve complex design challenges.
- Communicate visually through sketches, 3D views, and technical drawings as required.
- Work hands‑on across all documentation stages to support project delivery.
- Manage and respond to project correspondence as directed by the Project Leader, taking initiative where appropriate.
Required Experience and Skills:
You will be a Registered Architect with experience working within collaborative, creative, and resourceful teams. You will ideally bring strong experience in the design and delivery of large‑scale architectural projects.
You will be able to Demonstrate
- 7–10+ years of relevant experience in architecture.
- Registered Architect.
- Master’s degree in Architecture.
- Strong client‑oriented approach.
- Proven ability to guide and mentor teams across multiple project phases.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Advanced Revit skills.
- Strong Rhino skills desirable (Grasshopper highly regarded).
- Solid knowledge of the Adobe Suite (InDesign and Photoshop essential).
- Experience with Enscape and other rendering software is desirable.
- Ability to communicate a clear and coherent design narrative.
- Ability to lead and curate comprehensive documentation packages.
- Demonstrated capability across concept design through to design development.
- Strong technical understanding of project delivery requirements.
- Excellent documentation skills.
- Knowledge of local BCA standards and regulations.
- Experience in large‑scale projects preferred; transportation and mixed‑use experience advantageous.
