China is broadening its support for veterans seeking civilian careers, with a new focus on emerging sectors such as new energy vehicles (NEVs), high-end equipment manufacturing, and the low-altitude economy. This initiative was announced by the Ministry of Veteran Affairs during a press conference on Friday.
Key Highlights
- Wider Career Options: Veterans will now have opportunities in software development, e-commerce, and the health sector, in addition to traditional roles in government and state-owned enterprises.
- Collaboration with Government: The ministry will work with departments responsible for emergency response, public security, and education to help veterans become teachers, auxiliary police officers, and firefighters.
- Job Fairs and Partnerships: Enhanced cooperation with centrally administered state-owned enterprises and leading private companies will lead to more job fairs, expanding employment prospects.
- Skills Training: Since 2018, the ministry has trained approximately 1.22 million veterans. New training programs will cover drones, artificial intelligence, and other advanced fields.
