Summary:

  • Leadership abilities are now a common requirement across all job levels, not just executive roles

  • Executive recruiting agencies are particularly fixated on leadership as a must-have trait

  • The article questions the real meaning and necessity of leadership in every job role

While applying for jobs recently, I noticed a recurring theme: almost every advertised position required 'leadership abilities'. Not just for executive-level roles, either. This was across the board. You either had to possess them or have clearly demonstrated them.
