01Living is an Australian design-led business based on the Gold Coast, with operations across Australia, Hong Kong and China. We design original products and experiences for modern tea culture, working across our own brand and international B2B projects.

Design sits at the centre of what we do. We care about ideas, materials and details, and about creating products that feel original rather than following what already exists.

We are now looking for a Brand & Digital Designer to join us on the Gold Coast and work closely with our founder.

This role may suit a recent graduate, an early-career designer, or someone from a different creative background who has an exceptional visual eye and wants to build a serious career in design.

We care more about your taste, curiosity, creativity and potential than how many years you have worked.

The kind of person we’re looking for

Above everything else, you have a good eye.

You notice things other people may not notice — proportion, typography, colour, photography, materials, spacing and small details.

You understand the difference between something that feels genuinely refined and something that is simply trying too hard to look premium.

You know that good design is often about what you remove, not what you add.

You are creative, but you are not interested in creativity for its own sake. You want to understand the brand, the product, the customer and the reason behind what you are designing.

You are also curious.

If you don’t know how to do something, your first instinct is to figure it out.

If a task is repetitive, you wonder whether there is a smarter way to do it.

If a new AI tool, piece of software or technology can help you work better, you want to try it.

About the role — What you’ll work on

This is not a narrow graphic design role.

You will gradually work across many parts of the 01Living brand, including:

• Website and Shopify development
• Brand identity and visual direction
• Product launches
• Social and digital content
• Photography selection and art direction
• Packaging
• Product presentations and catalogues
• E-commerce
• New product concepts
• Campaign and marketing materials
• Working with external developers, photographers and creative partners
• Using AI and digital tools to improve the way we design and work

Some days you may be improving a Shopify product page.

Another day you may be discussing a new product prototype, selecting photography, refining packaging or helping develop the visual direction for a completely new collection.

As your capability grows, so will the role.

You don’t need to know everything already

Recent graduates and early-career candidates are encouraged to apply.

A formal design qualification is welcome, but not essential.

You may come from graphic design, brand design, digital design, fashion, architecture, interiors, product design, UI/web, photography or another creative discipline — or you may simply be self-taught.

What matters most is whether you can show us visual judgment, originality and the ability to learn quickly.

Digital & technical curiosity is a big plus

You do not need to be a programmer.

But we especially like designers who are comfortable with technology.

• Basic JavaScript
• AI tools
• AI-assisted coding
• Automation / no-code tools
• Photography or video
• E-commerce

Working together

You will work closely with our founder, and many of the ideas we explore are not black and white.

We may be discussing why one image feels right and another doesn’t, why a product feels too commercial, or how a design can feel more contemporary without becoming trendy.

You don’t need to be an extrovert or a polished presenter. What matters is being open to exchanging ideas, asking questions and developing work through discussion and feedback.

Mandarin and/or Cantonese language skills would be an advantage, as 01Living works across Australia, Hong Kong and China and this role may communicate with some of our teams and suppliers in Asia.
